It failed to apply here because i apparently never applied the kernel
module before.

Do you think you could split the commit into 2? one for
testing/openvswitch and possibly a new rebased patch for
testing/openvswitch-grsec if that is really needed.

why is the kernel module *needed*? why is not the module in mainline
kernel good enough?
