I am proud to officially announce the 1.9.0 release. http://dl-3.alpinelinux.org/alpine/v1.9/iso/alpine-1.9.0-i386.iso Alpine 1.9.0 have the following new features: * New faster, better package manager, apk-tools-2.0 * New build system, abuild (we no longer use Gentoo) * New init system, openrc * New toolchain (hardened gcc-4.4.1, uclibc 0.9.30.1) * Support for hard-disk installs * Support for SATA cdroms * Updated kernel (2.6.30.8) You cannot upgrade from 1n 1.8.x release to 1.9. A reinstall is required. Fortunally, that is just a question about copying over the apkovl and reboot ;) For changes since 1.8.3 see: http://wiki.alpinelinux.org/w/index.php?title=1.9.0_package_changes_since_1.8.3 For changes since 1.9.0_rc5 see: http://wiki.alpinelinux.org/w/index.php?title=1.9.0_package_changes_since_1.9.0_rc5 I have also done an effort to make the main page a little nicer. There is still a big need for going over the docs and update it for 1.9 Thanks! -nc --- Unsubscribe: alpine-devel+unsubscribe@lists.alpinelinux.org Help: alpine-devel+help@lists.alpinelinux.org ---
