We would prefer to have patches, so that we can build official Alpine kerne=

for Loongson based on current sources.

Right now our Octeon3 builders are running on a 4.9 kernel provided by Cavi=

We can do the same with Loongson for now, but for the port to be truly viab=
le=20
in the long-term we would need to get these patches upstreamed as quickly a=

possible.  The Alpine community can help with this by providing feedback on=
=20
the kernel patches to you and also to upstream kernel developers as you sub=
mit=20
them, since we can verify that the patches have been tested on real hardwar=
e=20
by us.

I think the main goal right now would be to bootstrap mips64el.  Then we ca=

install the image on Loongson hardware from there.  This is something I can=
