caóc,
I'd be happy to help and take over some of those packages. I use micro
Emacs' and acpi on systems in producing, so I'm personally interested in
seeing at least those two packages continue to thrive.
Can anyone provide a brief on how maintainer ship of a package changes
hands?

My guess is you change my name and address in the APKBUILD file and push
it to the repository. That's what I did back in the day reclaiming
unmaintained aports.

Caóc,
If that works for you then I'll send PR's for the packages I can take
over and list you as a contributor and change the maintainer to
myself?

If I understand correctly, a contributor is somebody to first send the
APKBUILD. In cases of mg and acpi, I am not. So if I'm listed as a
maintainer of a package and the contributor is another person, I don't
become the latter if I give up maintenance.

Really? I was under the impression that a contributor was just someone
who had contributed to the packaging. And that the maintainers were
the ones who made the calls on the package's status/upkeep.
If that's not the case though I'll go ahead and just substitute myself
as the maintainer and call it a day.
