Hi!

We have got a lot of orphaned packages recently. I checked a few days
ago and there were 820 packages in total. Now it is below 800, and it
has been very encouraging to see so many step up. It is very
appreciated!

But there is still need for more help.

If you want to help maintain a package, please create a pull request
with the change in APKBUILD. Example commit:

What is expected from a package maintainer? Basically, look after the
package, and make sure that any issue is followed up. It means:

- respond to reported issues when needed
- help user to report issues upstream when appropriate
- review and comment/approve on merge requests for the package
- make sure security issues are followed up and fixed
- get the needed help from more experienced developers when needed

It is preferred that you use the package you maintain one way or the
other, but that is not a requirement.

For the majority of the packages it is not much work.

There are also a lot of other things that is needed help with:

- help with review merge requests, and help some users with basic git usage
- documentation
- help with moderation in the community channels (IRC etc)
- python coding of the security tracker
