Hi there,

I love Raspberry Pis and so I love Alpine Linux. I’m trying to push both to their limits to improve their non-server experience. For now RetroArch is running correctly for almost every libretro core out there, kodi as well.

But, I don’t know how do Raspberry Pi OS (formerly raspbian) does to improve chromium speed. For me both firefox/chromium are simply unable to load a youtube video at 1080p while the former is able to do so.

I’ve seen a couple of 3D error in chrome://gpu <chrome://gpu> report under chromium but in Firefox I don’t find any diagnosis tool. Since the firefox custom build script is a very large beast, I’m asking for your help for what’s need to be tweaked / rebuilt in order to get much better GPU decoding in firefox. AFAIK it fully runs in CPU right now as my fan blows almost immediately when loading a page :-)

If you have any clue, please tell me.
