While not package maintainer, looking at
https://git.alpinelinux.org/aports/tree/main/net-snmp?h=3.10-stable I do
not see any change that could explain this.

Is it possible this boils down to difference between versions? Based on
https://packages.ubuntu.com/eoan/snmptrapd ubuntu has 5.7.3 while alpine
has 5.8.
