just a small heads up for people using audio over hdmi, so that
you don't spent half a night on it like I did. Kernel currently
distributed with 3.11 has known bug
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205855 which causes the
audio to be really bad and not useable.
I was affected on nvidia card using nouveau drivers. Not sure if amd or
intel suffers from same problem. No errors message is printed anywhere,
just the audio is shit.
If you need audio-over-hdmi, I can confirm that the patch in the bug
report does fix the problem, so you can either use it with 5.4.5 (what I
did) or wait with upgrading to 3.11 for 5.4.6 kernel.
