Hi,
I recently got a Nanopi R2S which I would like to run Alpine on. I've already see this guide here<https://wiki.alpinelinux.org/wiki/DIY_Fully_working_Alpine_Linux_for_Allwinner_and_Other_ARM_SOCs>. It's very informative but over the top (for me). I'm also not sure if it reflects the current state of things?
For example, it explains how to compile u-boot, but if I download the generic arm64 image, I can see u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin already created. I've also had a look at Armbian and DietPi (both officially support the R2S) to see how they set things up. Based on their images, can I not simply do the following:
* Flash u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin to the sdcard with dd
* Create a single ext4 partition on the SD card in the available space
* Extract the contents of Alpine aarch64 to the ext4 partition
* Plug in the sdcard and boot into Alpine?
I'd also like to install in sys mode, which should be possible, it's just a matter of knowing how - which I sadly don't.
Thanks
David
