Hi,
With Java language and runtime development happening at record pace, it would be nice to use the semiannual OpenJDK releases rather than wait 2 years for LTS. Alpine has non-LTS releases in edge, but not in any of its releases. Alpine edge is not usable in production, and its packages can't reliably be used in other releases. I understand that the support period of a non-LTS Java release is only 6 months, while Alpine releases are supported for 2 years. However, because Alpine is released every 6 months, it is not a problem for those who choose to use non-LTS OpenJDK and already understand the commitment to keep current. Please consider giving Alpine users a way to run/deploy the latest Java.
Thanks,
Alex

Can you please open a issue[0] to request moving the packages from
testing to community? This way we can assign it properly to the
maintainer.
Usually the issue is that we have to support the package for 6 months
and packages known to easily break (especially if there is lots of
development happening) are a lot more difficult to maintain.
